Jam-Master Jay and Adam "MCA" Yauch of the Beastie Boys are going to be celebrated in New York City this August. "Together Forever: Jam Master Jay + MCA” has been announced; an event celebrating the lives and legacies of two of Hip-Hop's fallen stars. DJ Hurricane and Danny Boy of House Of Pain are expecting to attend, as well as "special guests."

The event is hosted by the Beastie Boys Collection, and takes place on August 7 at Adam Yauch Park in Brooklyn. The day will also honor photographer Ricky Powell, who traveled with Beastie Boys throughout their career and became a famous part of their inner circle.

MCA died in 2012 at age 47 after a three year battle with salivary cancer. Jason "Jam-Master Jay" Mizell was shot and killed in his Queens studio in October 2002. Run-D.M.C. and the Beasties are credited with breaking Hip-Hop through to mainstream audiences in the mid-1980s, and the two groups remained closely affiliated for decades.
