Today (Sept. 15) was a big day for Diddy. Not only did he drop his first solo album in years, The Love Album - Off the Grid, he also received a key to New York City from NYC mayor Eric Adams.
“The bad boy of entertainment is getting the key to the city from the bad boy of politics!” Mayor Eric Adams said as he presented a giant key to Combs in Times Square.
Of course, Diddy's reaction was enthusiastic. “Diddy finally has the key to the city!” he shouted. He later rode through Times Square clutching the key while leaning out of the window, declaring, "It's a love rampage."
As aforementioned, The Love Album - Off the Grid, is his first solo album in 17 years, and it's solid, with notable appearances from Justin Bieber, Jazmine Sullivan, Babyface and John Legend, and a H.E.R. on the album standouts "Moments," "Need Somebody," "Kim Porter," and "Space" respectively. Other significant appearances include Mary J. Blige, Teyana Taylor, The Weeknd, Summer Walker, and Ty Dolla $ign among a slew of others. It's the first release on his new label LOVE Records.
In addition to being honored with a key to the city, Diddy also received the Global Icon Award at this year's MTV VMAs, kicking off a great start to a momentous week for the Hip-Hop mogul.
