In the latest episode of ROCK THE BELLS' series Did You Know? we highlight the history of The Sequence.

Hailing from Columbia, South Carolina this all-girl trio auditioned for Sugar Hill Records owner Sylvia Robinson in October of 1979 backstage at a Sugar Hill Gang concert. Within weeks, Blondy, Cheryl The Pearl, and Angie B. were in the studio recording their debut single Funk You Up, which made them the first all-female rap group to make a record, as well as the first group from the south to do so. Angie B would later become Angie Stone and take the R&B music world by storm.

Watch as Rock The Bells' JayQuan tells the story.
