On the latest episode of ROCK THE BELLS' Influence of Hip-Hop, De La Soul spoke with LL COOL J about making new music.

"I personally feel that we have a responsibility to continue," Posdnous said. "Not only for [Dave's] legacy but for what we've done for Hip-Hop and for what Hip-Hop has done for us. We got involved in something as a childhood dream that actually became something bigger than us. To walk away from it would be like abandoning your child and I couldn't abandon this."

Pos then confirmed that he will continue to make music as long as he lives. "It's the very thing that changed my life, the very thing that I wanted to be a part of in my childhood. I'm going to do this until I die like my comrades."

The group also confirmed that they will complete their popular Art Official Intelligence trilogy.

"One of our promises is to complete the Art Official Intelligence trilogy," they said. "We was always supposed to do A03, so that is the next thing that we're doing. The very next thing."

2000's Art Official Intelligence: Mosaic Thump kicked off the trilogy and produced the hits "Oooh" featuring Redman, "All Good?" featuring Chaka Khan and "Squat!" featuring Mike D of The Beastie Boys. In 2001, the group released AOI: Bionix, their sixth album and their last on Tommy Boy. AOI: Bionix featured "Baby Phat" featuring Devin The Dude. The album peaked at #136 US Billboard 200 and #31 US Top R&B/Hip/Hop albums.
