The DMV music community is mourning the passing of DJ, producer, and radio legend Supa Funk Regulata Celo. Celo, born Leon Ferguson brought his brand of spinning to 93.9, 95.5, Flava 1580, Baltimore's B103, XM satellite radio and New York's WBLS.

Celo's daughter Chyanne Williams announced his passing on social media. "It is with a heavy heart that I share the news of my father's passing. He was a remarkable man who touched the lives of many with his kindness, wisdom, and love. A LEGEND in D.C., his influence and legacy will be remembered by all who knew him."

National Hip-Hop Museum founder Jeremy Beaver shared Celo's influence with Rock The Bells. "DJ Celo wasn't just a NHHM 2019 Honoree, he was my DJ mentor and a mentor to many up-and-coming DJ'S. He was a great friend, father and music aficionado who elevated DC Hip-Hop to a commercial level thru his time on WKYS and in the DMV Club circuit. As a DJ he had the 2nd biggest impact on the DC music scene after DJ Kool."

- DJ RBI to Rock The Bells - 1/19/25

Washington D.C.'s DJ RBI described Celo to Rock The Bells as one of the best DJ's that he's ever witnessed. "Experiencing him was magical", he explained. "He really had a deep passion for music, regardless of genre but it was clear he loved Hip Hop and he loved the craft of spinning. One of the most genuine, supportive, and creative guys you could meet. He loved DC — its people and its culture.

A pillar of communities, he was embraced by Hip Hop, Go-Go, R&B, Reggae and House. A pillar of this industry, one of few DJs to be heard on radio stations ranging from DC to NY to Atlanta and beyond. He will truly be missed."
