"We just felt that we needed to let the people know what was happening with Project 2025," Scorpio told Rock The Bells. "I assembled some of the best socially and politically conscious MC's, and we got to work." The trio of MC's are no strangers socio-political rhymes, with Melle Mel being the co-writer of "The Message", the 1982 hit that injected social commentary into Rap music, and later "Jesse" which endorsed Presidential hopeful Jesse Jackson in 1984.
Public Enemy front man Chuck D authored "Fight The Power", "By The Time I Get To Arizona", and "Black Steel In The Hour of Chaos", all anthems in Hip-Hop. KRS-ONE coined the phrase "Edutainment", which was also the title of BDP's groundbreaking 1990 album. Songs like "Illegal Business", "Sound Of The Police", and "You Must Learn" spoke truth to power, and established KRS as one of Hip-Hop's most brilliant minds.
