AZ Announces New Project Entirely Produced By Buckwild

Brooklyn Rap legend AZ announced last week (11/3) that he is readying a new project produced by DITC producer Buckwild.

The album, Truth Be Told, is scheduled for a December 1 release and follows his 2021 album Doe or Die II.

"He brought more hits to the table than imagined," AZ captioned his post, speaking of Buckwild’s work on the new project. “Hip-Hop is still Alive.”

Buckwild has worked with Diamond D, OC, Fat Joe, Black Rob, Jay-Z, The Notorious B.I.G., and others. Pharoahe Monch posted an enthusiastic "LESTS GO" in the comments, while Fat Joe responded with several fire emojis.

Last year, AZ dropped the first trailer for his upcoming documentary titled: Jewels, Gems & Treasures. There is still no release date for the documentary that will hopefully shed some light on the journey of the private and criminally underrated MC. The two-minute trailer features 50 Cent, Nas, producer Buckwild and EMI Records executive Daniel Glass who signed AZ to his first record deal.

The clever Brooklyn wordsmith dropped his full-length debut album Doe Or Die in 1995 and also joined Dr. Dre, Nas and Foxy Brown in the super group The Firm. AZ gave us several mixtapes and a few releases during the 2000’s and most recently he dropped Doe Or Die II – a 17 track album which features 2 Chainz, Conway The Machine, Lil Wayne and Rick Ross.
