Comedian Dave Chappelle set off A Tribe Called Quest's Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame induction speech by playing the "tour guide" intro to "Electric Relaxation" from their critically acclaimed 1993 album, Midnight Marauders. Chappelle then explained how Tribe took their friendship and records from their parents collections, and forged their own lane in Hip-Hop.

Joined onstage by Phife Dawg's parents and Kool DJ Red Alert, Jarobi and Q-Tip thanked their families, musical influences and God. An emotional Q-Tip read a heartfelt piece where he declared Do Wop and Hip-Hop kindred spirits rooted in the Blues.

The Roots, Busta Rhymes, Common, Black Thought, De La Soul, and Queen Latifah then delivered renditions of " Can I Kick It?", "Check The Rhyme", "Bonita Applebum", and "Scenario". ATCQ follow Grandmaster Flash & The Furious 5, Public Enemy, NWA, LL COOL J, and Missy Elliot as Hip-Hop acts inducted into the prestigious hall.

Tribe hit the scene in 1990 with their debut album, People's Instinctive Travels And The Paths Of Rhythm. The Low End Theory, Midnight Marauders, Beats, Rhymes And Life, The Love Movement, and We Got It From Here followed, delivering a blend of Jazz samples (and live instrumentation) with Boom Bap beats, establishing Tribe as one of the most exciting acts of the 90's.

Congrats ATCQ!
