50 Cent Says Snoop's 'Murder Was The Case' No Longer In the Works At Starz

The Snoop Dogg series Murder Was The Case looks like it has hit a snag. The proposed show was being executive produced by 50 Cent's G-Unit Productions, presumably for the STARZ network. But it looks like, for reasons that remain unclear, Murder Was The Case is being shelved for now.

For his part, 50 blasted STARZ for not getting the series off the ground.

“@SnoopDogg Murder was the case is no longer in production at STARZ,” 50 wrote in a now-deleted tweet. “I give them the alley-oop, they drop the damn ball. Anyway I hope snoop tell his story.”

Things looked promising for the series as recently as December; when 50 tweeted that the highly anticipated show was in the works.

Murder was the Case is an incredible story,” he said at the time. “Snoop had the biggest album in the country and was fighting for his freedom in the courtroom. The only place to go on this incredible ride is with G-Unit Film & Television. I’m excited to be working with Snoop to bring it to television.”

And, months ago, Snoop himself seemed all in.

"I am excited to finally tell the story of Murder was the Case," he said via statement at the time. "This was a pivotal moment in my life and career and I’ve deliberately waited until I found the right partner to bring this to the screen.”

This isn't 50's first time airing his grievances about the network he helped put on the proverbial map. STARZ has been home to 50's successful POWER franchise, as well as the network for his series Black Mafia Family. But back in March, he put STARZ on blast.

“This is me packing my stuff, STARZ,” he captioned in an Instagram post. “Sucks, my deal is up over here I’m out. They Renewed High town and FORCE is the highest rated show they have it sitting in limbo. If I told you how much dumb s— I deal with over here. you would think they all went to school on a small yellow bus.“

50 also criticized STARZ back in November, after an episode of BMF was leaked prior to when it was supposed to air.
