50 Cent continues to gain traction in the television and motion picture industry.

50 has been added to the board of governors of the Motion Picture & Television Fund, joining a current board membership that includes Byron Allen, J.J. Abrams, Emma Thomas, Christopher Nolan and several other high-profile public figures. Along with 50, writer, director, producer Gregory Berlanti and former Warner Media Studios and Network Group CEO Lauren Shuler Donner will join the board. This news comes on the heels of 50’s announcement that he wished to purchase his television shows from the Starz network and move on. The network has been home to the hit melodrama Power and all of its spinoff shows, of which 50 Cent is executive producer.

"Being able to give back to this industry is something we should all strive for," said 50. "I cant wait for all of the exciting changes we have in store. Im so honored to be part of the leadership of this extraordinary organization." MPTF president Bob Beitcher echoed 50's sentiments. "We are more than thrilled to have these four incredible leaders in their fields join our board of governors," said Beitcher. "Our future is truly looking bright as we move ahead to a new era of taking care of our own."
