Michel'le is one of Hip-Hop's most famous vocalists. The singer with the famously-squeaky speaking voice also has quite the resume when it comes to classic rap hooks, from her days as one of the go-to songbirds for two of rap's most iconic (and notorious) labels: Ruthless Records and Death Row Records.

The Los Angeles-born Michel'le Toussaint first came to the world's attention when she guested on "Turn Off The Lights" by the World Class Wreckin' Cru, and once Cru member Dr. Dre defected to Eazy-E's Ruthless Records, his then-girlfriend went with him. On Ruthless, Michel'le became the label's first major R&B star, dropping her self-titled debut in 1989 and earning a gold certification in the process. Her relationship with Dre was famously volatile, and she left the superproducer shortly after he'd reemerged with Death Row Records. But at Death Row, Michel'le was still a force, contributing vocals to platinum-selling albums by label stars like Tha Dogg Pound and 2Pac.

We picked some of her best showcases.
