Esteemed Chicago emcee Lupe Fiasco is a seasoned lyricist and an immense creative, crafting some of the most criminally underrated albums in hip-hop history. His 2018 album, Drogas Wave, is an afrofutaristic journey exploring an underwater city with the mission to sink slave ships. It seems that Fiasco’s ceaseless imagination has something else up its sleeve.

Lupe has made it clear that he is only in competition with himself. Last night, Lupe took to his he announced to his fans that the first song is in the bag and he is moving on to the next. “1 song in…9 to go...Last time I did this Stack was alive….”

The announcement comes just a couple of weeks after Lupe, and Royce da 5’9 will ignite a beef after some slick comments on an Instagram live between the two Lupe and Royce show hosts. The two traded some diss tracks back and forth, with “Steve Jobs” and “Silence of the Lamba”. This project may be the proof that Lupe is still an MC not to f--k with.

Lupe has been counting down track by track since midnight last night. Hopefully, tomorrow we will wake up to some Lu. As of now, we are three tracks in!
