DJ EFN and N.O.R.E.’s Drink Champs have announced that Chicago legend Twista will be their next guest on the popular hip-hop interview podcast. On Monday (February 21), Drink Champs posted a promotional snippet of the interview, as Twista references everything from his early days in his hometown of Chicago to cementing himself as a legend in the city.

Notable for his impressive speedy rapping ability, Twista revolutionized the Midwest Chopper flow. In the clip, Twista cements himself as the G.O.A.T. of the rapping style, comparing his impact on the flow to Micheal Jordan’s impact on the NBA.

When asked why he started rapping so fast, Twista said he wanted to stand out from other emcees in Chicago, “I wanted to just do something different,” he explained. “You have different versions of it, I might consider myself the Michael Jordan version of it.”

Originally rapping under the name Tung Twista, the Chicago emcee released his debut album, Runnin’ Off at da Mouth, in 1992. Twista would continue to garner attention in the city, becoming a local legend in the Chi. In 2002, Twista would finally receive worldwide recognition with his fourth studio album, Kamikaze, as he recruited A-list emcees Ludacris and Kanye West for his first commercial release. Twista would earn his first number-one hit with the Kanye West assisted “Slow Jamz,” also featured on Ye’s debut album, College Dropout

Twista’s Drink Champs episode is set to premiere on RevoltTV on Thursday (February 24), Friday, Black Effect Podcast Network, and Saturday on Drink Champ’s official Youtube channel.
