Los Angeles jazz artist Terrace Martin released his new album Drones on Thursday night (November 5). The project’s title track features an ensemble of LA heavy hitters with vocal contributions from Kendrick Lamar, Snoop Dogg, Ty Dolla $ign, and James Faunterlroy with keys played by neo-soul legend Robert Glasper.

Terrace Martin has contributed to all four of Kendrick Lamar’s studio albums, including  Section.80, Good Kid, M.A.A.D City, To Pimp a Butterfly, and Damn. Martin has also worked with Snoop Dogg, Ty Dolla $ign, and James Faultelroy in the past, making this a great reunion of these musical minds.

This groovy feel-good track is the third time we’ve heard a Lamar feature on this year, after his verses on Baby Keem’s “Family Ties” and “Range Brothers.” He is currently working on his last album with Top Dawg Entertainment.

Snoop Dogg and K. Dot will be joining Eminem, Mary J. Blige, and  Dr. Dre as they take the stage for the 2022 Superbowl LVI Pepsi Halftime Show.

How do you feel about the new track? Stay tuned for more on this and other hip-hop news.
