Styles P of The LOX recently announced that he is retiring his solo career and launching the Respect My Legacy tour.
The tour will be supported by Smoke DZA and will feature live band Ramakhandra on most dates except for his 49th birthday show at New York's Irving Plaza, where he will be backed by Brady Watts Bass & Bars Ensemble. In an interview with Billboard, P says that music has consumed a great deal of his time, and that he has other ventures that he'd like to pursue.
“If you look at the amount of solo albums I have compared to artists my age, I think I’ve done my job, and I’ve done it well," he said. "I’ve provided fans with so much music, and it consumes a large part of my life. But there’s a lot of other things I want to do, and now I’m ready to do that.”
Since 2011, Styles has owned and operated Juices For Life. He also recently created Farmacy For Life, Hip-Hop's first natural health food store, which opened its first brick-and-mortar location in New York in early 2023. He explained to Rock The Bells that people of color lack information concerning healthy eating choices. "As Black and Latino people and poor people of color we are behind the eight ball," he said. "We put importance in making a dollar, but sometimes we forget what's important. That's why I'm pushing a healthy lifestyle."
