Franklin is readjusting to life with Reed/Teddy and being awfully pragmatic about reuniting with the man who killed his father, Alton. With Grady's "disappearance" and Teddy's reemergence, Franklin's team is getting more and more uneasy about the precariousness of things. To justify Teddy moving Grady out of the picture, Franklin explains to his crew that sometimes "a lion eats it's young." But was he talking about Teddy and Grady; or Teddy and himself?

During a conversation with his crew, Franklin breaks the news that Teddy is in the mix. And he makes it clear that they are in no position to push back against whoever the C.I.A. has in front of them. But the bigger problem is the price drop can't happen right now. And that's going to cause issues with other people. When Jerome and Louie take this news to Skully's people, they're greeted with automatic weapons. But nothing violent happens--Skully just wants to meet.

Meanwhile, Skully is even more volatile than ever. Having loss both his daughter Tianna and his wife Khadijah, he's teetering on the brink of sanity. When Jerome and Louie meet up with Skully, he's got one of his men on his knees, brandishing a katana blade over his hapless henchman. After voicing his displeasure with ineptitude regarding the buy, he lops of his screaming underling's ear as a horrified Jerome and Louie watch. After demanding that the wounded man not get any blood on his bathroom floor, Skully admonishes Jerome and Louie for changing the terms of their deal. Louie explains that it couldn't be helped, but after Skully reminds her that he's owed something for what he's been through (and for the fact that he didn't murder Louie when he had a chance in Season Four), she agrees to maintain his original terms--despite her and Jerome having to take a loss.

Louie and Jerome go to a drop site to make an exchange with Skully’s right hand, Melo. Melo makes it clear that he's tired of working with the increasingly erratic and bizarre Skully, and he claims that Skully plans to off Jerome and Louie. So Melo offers the couple $100,000 to kill Skully, believing that no one will miss him. “No one will shed tears of his death,” he explains. Louie hates the idea, but Melo shares his plan. If Louie and Jerome follow Skully when he goes to see a psychic on his late daughter’s birthday, he'd be an easy target, defenseless and unguarded. Once Skully is gone, Melo takes over the Bloods, and the three of them can begin dealing at a much better rate.

Franklin meets up with Gustavo to make a routine supply exchange, but Franklin quickly realizes that someone has orchestrated this particular drop. As he's talking with Gustavo, Franklin quietly realizes that Teddy is the puppeteer of the drop and is likely watching. And it's true: Teddy is surveil the two men from inside one of the buildings near the parking lot where they are meeting. Deciding to give Teddy false info, Franklin feigns happiness over working with Teddy again. Franklin even offers to buy Gustavo a brand-new jacket to replace the one he's always wearing. But Franklin knows that Teddy, once a necessary (if uncomfortable) ally, is a growing problem.

Louie and Jerome decide to meet up with Black Diamond and Dallas to talk to the strippers and gather intel on Melo. The confront the girls as they are dropping their kids off at school together; and after hiring a dancer to seduce Melo, they reveal to Jerome and Louie that Melo is quite reckless. Jerome doesn't trust Black Diamond and Dallas (they shot Louie and betrayed Khadijah), but Louie holds no grudges. If they can help with this, all is forgiven. Black Diamond even apologizes for shooting Louie.

As expected, Skully arrives at his psychic Mama Mambo’s house for Tianna's birthday. Jerome and Louie pounce on him immediately with their guns drawn.

Melo arrives at Louie’s club, seeking confirmation that Skully is out of the picture. Jerome and Louie give from his daughter Tianna as evidence. But then, Skully suddenly appears, and furiously snaps Melo’s neck while quoting a Bible verse. When Skully asks Jerome and Louie why they didn't just kill him when they had the chance, Louie reminds him that Skully could've killed her in the hospital, but he didn't after she explained that the violence would never end. Jerome stated that they owed Skully, and he gave him back his daughter’s necklace. Instead, Skully gives it back, agrees to their normal price, and leaves.

Louie cleans up the room after Melo's killing. Afterwards, she sits down, exhales and smiles.

Franklin meets with Teddy--in public--about the price cut. Teddy tells Franklin is business operations is the issue, and that the pricing wasn’t Teddy's problem. Franklin then confronted Teddy about killing his father Alton. Teddy lies about it; claiming he wasn't involved in what happened. A stern Franklin makes it clear that Teddy is not to show up unannounced, at home or any place of business, anymore.

When Gustavo returns from a meeting with the Columbians, Teddy wants him to make the drop with Franklin, but without Teddy being there. Franklin grabs some cash for the drop and sends Peaches home so that he can meet with Gustavo alone. They meet in a secluded area and Franklin once again believes that Teddy is spying on the meet. He questioned Gustavo about Teddy. Sure enough, Teddy was spying.

The following morning, Franklin and Dallas go to the secluded meeting place, examining the building. There, he finds evidence that his meeting was being recorded by Teddy.
