Snoop Dogg and Dr. Dre's Album Is Dropping This Summer

Snoop Dogg and Dr. Dre's Album Is Dropping This Summer

Last year, Snoop Dogg confirmed that he and longtime friend/collaborator Dr. Dre were working on a new collaborative project, and last night, he announced a date — it's coming in summer 2023.

"Dynamic. Duo. Music coming summer 23," he wrote on Instagram alongside an older photo of him posing with Dre.

Last year, Snoop confirmed the project after rumors began floating around that the pair were working on something new. "We're cooking up a little something" Snoop revealed. "I don't wanna talk about it too much, but we're back together again. It's been 30 years since we worked on a record, and we are doing something. We're working on something." Snoop later confirmed the title of the album is Missionary.

Snoop and Dre's collaborative history is the stuff of Hip-Hop legend. Dr. Dre produced Snoop's intro to the world, 1992's "Deep Cover" which set the Long Beach rapper up to star on Dre's 1992 landmark album, The Chronic. By the time Snoop Dogg's 1993 debut, Doggystyle, rolled around, he was a star. The album, which Dre was instrumental in cultivating, debuted at #1 on the Billboard 200, selling nearly 1 million copies in its first week. They reconnected extensively on Dr. Dre's 1999 classic follow-up, 2001. Adding further excitement, Snoop acquired their old recording home, Death Row Records, last year, as well as the rights to some of its biggest hits, including his debut album.

It's safe to say that a new project between the two is highly anticipated given their illustrious track record. Summer can't get here fast enough.
