Snoop Dogg just has yet another accomplishment to add to his impressive career —Songwriters Hall of Fame nominee.
The rapper joins Bryan Adams, R.E.M., Blondie, Gloria Estefan, Patti Smith, R.E.M., Sade, Teddy Riley and more who were also nominated. The Songwriters Hall of Fame is dedicated to recognizing the work and lives of those composers and lyricists who create music around the world, and a songwriter qualifies for induction 20 years after the first significant commercial release of a song.
In other Snoop news, he has a biopic in the works. Soop's newly formed Death Row Pictures is partnering with Universal Pictures to release the film, which will be directed by Allen Hughes (Menace II Society). “I waited a long time to put this project together because I wanted to choose the right director, the perfect writer, and the greatest movie company I could partner with that could understand the legacy that I’m trying to portray on screen, and the memory I’m trying to leave behind,” said Snoop, who will also produce the film along with Hughes and Sara Ramaker. “It was the perfect marriage. It was holy matrimony, not holy macaroni.”
