In August 2004, LL COOL J released his 11th studio album The DEFinition. The project was produced largely by Timbaland, with additional production from N.O. Joe, Teddy Riley and 7 Aurelius. The project debuted and peaked at #4 on US Billboard 200 and sold almost 180,000 copies within its first week, giving LL his biggest first week sales at that point.

"Headsprung" is the lead single from The DEFinition. With production by Timbaland, it remains a dancefloor banger, containing the the energy that Tim brings to his production, which made it a perfect lead single. The song peaked at #16 on the Billboard Hot 100, #4 on Hot Rap Songs and #7 on Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs.

"Headsprung" proved LL's ability to constantly adapt to what's hot, while injecting his own style and persona, a key to his longevity in multiple facets of entertainment.

"Hush" is the second and last single from The DEFintion and was produced by 7 Aurelius. "Hush" peaked at #3 on the UK Singles Chart, #26 on the US Hot 100, and #11 on the Billboard Hot Rap Singles chart. "Rub My Back" was the b-side of the single and was produced by Timbaland. "Feel The Beat," "1 In The Morning" and "I'm About To Get Her" featuring R. Kelly round out a solid album by Uncle L, who is one of a very few in rap to successfully reach double digit full album release numbers.
