Rihanna is officially America's youngest woman self-made billionaire. According to a recent list compiled by Forbes, the 34-year-old singer has a net worth of $1.4 billion. Most of her wealth comes from her Fenty Beauty line (which she co-owns with French luxury retailer LVMH). The line reportedly generated more than $550 million in revenue in 2020.
The singer is the only billionaire under 40 on this year’s list, and this is the third year in a row she made the cut, coming in at number 21. Although Fenty makes up the bulk of her income, the Grammy-winning singer and new mom, also earns big income from her singing career and her popular lingerie brand, Savage/Fenty, which Forbes reports raised money at a $1 billion valuation in February 2021 (Rihanna has a 30 percent stake in the company).
In terms of her being "self-made," Forbes gives Rihanna a score of ten, explaining that the ranking ranges from one to 10 and indicates how much of a person's fortune was built on their own versus being inherited. Kim Kardashian who has a net worth of $1.8bn, comes in as the second-youngest billionaire on the 2022 list at 41.
