Remy Ma recently appeared on The Breakfast Club with Tami Roman in support of their upcoming Lifetime movie, Girl In The Closet and was inevitably asked how she feels about the numerous women in rap who are currently bubbling.
"I think everybody in their own respect has something that I like about them. I love Lola Brooke, she so energetic and just seems fun and enjoying her moment. I like GloRilla, I like Latto, I like [Ice] Spice, I like everybody for different reasons. It was a point when it seemed like everybody was doing the exact same thing. It's starting to be, this is her sound, and this is what she sounds like. People are starting to carve out their little niches and I think we need that... I'm just happy to see all of them I don't really have a favorite."
She went on to say she's happy to mentor up-and-coming women in Hip-Hop and wishes someone had been around to lend her a hand when she was still early in her career.
"I'm the one who's always trying to do some of the things that I wish people would've told me early on," she said. "I wish I had someone to tell me, let me put you with this lawyer, let me put you with this financial advisor."
While she didn't get specific about when new music will arrive, she did say on Instagram that music is "next" following the release of her film on March 11.
