The trailer for the Nas-produced and narrated documentary, The Invaders, has arrived. Inspired by Black militant leaders like Stokely Carmichael and Malcolm X, the Memphis-based civil rights group was made up of young college students, Vietnam vets, musicians, and intellectuals.

Per a press release, the film, directed by Prichard Smith, "uncovers the history and significance of the often-overlooked group, detailing their direct involvement with Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. in the pivotal hours leading up to his assassination" touching on themes or case, economic injustice and government surveillance in the process.

The film is executive produced by Nas, Memphis rapper/activist Yo Gotti, Craig Brewer, Peter Bittenbender, and Emmy-nominated filmmaker Sacha Jenkins, and features interviews with key members of the Invaders including Coby Smith, Charles Cabbage, John B. Smith, and John Gary Williams.

Presented by Mass Appeal, the film will be available digitally on Nov. 1. Watch the trailer above.
