Last week Queens legend, Nas, released a surprise single with his close collaborator, California producer Hit-Boy. On the new track, “Big Nas,” the emcee flaunts his iconic lyrical acrobatics, wordplay, and storytelling that he rose to prominence with.

Beginning on Thursday (October 14), Nas will teach a class on hip-hop storytelling through the online education platform, MasterClass.

The Queens wordsmith will be lecturing hip-hop hopefuls about the process of writing a meaningful story while crafting a song. Nas says he will make a song from scratch for MasterClass students to give them an idea of his personal songwriting process.

Nas says he plans to teach students “how to find [their] inspiration, [their] flow, and how to turn [their] life experience into music.”

The company released a statement about Nas’ plan to teach students his iconic writing style, “Nas shares his philosophy as a lyricist, breaking down how he used his life experiences and emotions to create incredibly raw yet cinematic lyrics with a message to inspire MasterClass members to do the same.”
