Mister Cee Says He's "Doing His Own Thing," Has No Plans to Back Up Artists

DJ Mister Cee, known as "The Closer," opened the Rock The Bells Festival on August 6, calling the energy of the festival, which was held for the first time in Queens, New York, great.

"Normally at a concert if you're going on first there isn't a crowd yet, but it was a big crowd and the energy was amazing," he told Rock The Bells. "I even had to play an extra ten minutes which was great for me. There were people from all over — east coast, west coast, south and midwest ... It wasn't just a New York thing."

Mister Cee, who was previously the DJ for Big Daddy Kane, is a legendary figure in Hip-Hop, and one of today's most prolific DJs, holding down the radio and party scenes. He also played a key role in the signing of The Notorious B.I.G. For now though, he says he's content being completely solo.

"I have no plans to go back to backing up artists right now," Cee revealed. "I'm just doing my thing on the radio with ROCK THE BELLS Monday through Thursday 10pm to midnight East Coast time with the Set It Off Show and I do radio locally in New York as well. I DJ lots of parties too — you can check me out on social media @djmistercee and see all of the events that I do. I have to DJ an event tonight in The Bronx. For me it's just constantly DJing events, parties and doing radio."
