MF DOOM'S label Metalface Records is celebrating the 30th anniversary of KMD's Black Bastards with a deluxe special edition vinyl of the album. Additionally, new apparel will be available to commemorate the project.
The album was KMD's sophomore project. KMD was comprised of DOOM (under his previous alias Zev Love X) and his brother DJ Subroc who was killed in a road accident in 1993. Completed in 1993, and slated for release in 1994, the album was instead shelved by Elektra reportedly because of its controversial cover art which featured a Black Sambo being lynched. It saw the light of day in 2000 and was re-released in 2001, then again in 2008, this time by DOOM's Metalface label.
