MC Sha Rock has announced that the 6th annual MC Sha Rock Day is happening on Saturday June 1st from 2PM-7PM, at Gunhill Playground in The Bronx. The event is hosted by the legendary Roxanne Shante, and sponsored by Monster. MC Sha Rock Day is a celebration of women in Hip-Hop, and the first female MC of Hip-Hop culture, MC Sha Rock. Sound will be provided by the Mighty Mighty Sasquatch.

The festivities continue Sunday June 2nd with a Women's Brunch from 10AM to 1PM at The Shaking Crab, 2179 White Plains Rd in The Bronx. City Councilman Andy King and Bronx Borough President Vanessa L. Gibson were on hand at last years event, where it was announced that Sha-Rock Day will be officially celebrated across all of New York's boroughs on the first Saturday of June each year.
