On a recent episode of Audacity Check In MC Lyte discusses Stevie Wonder's appearance on her new album. ["Stevie] said, 'Okay, y'all could come down. I'm gonna do it," she explained. "So we went down to the studio, and he was in the middle of recording a song for himself, which was fantastic. So we were waiting, and then after that, he had to eat. We waited through him eating, went back into the studio, and he says, 'I think I'm gonna do it tomorrow.'" Lyte then revealed to DJ Scratch that not only did the legendary musician, writer and vocalist lay his voice, he also included a bonus.

"I was like, 'What?!' I was like, 'He had us come all the way down.' Okay - you gotta just be grateful to be in the room. And so we left. And then the following day I was like, 'Is he gonna do this?' You know, so I hit Warryn up all, can you find out if he's gonna do it? 'Oh, I forgot to call you. He did it already. And he sent it to me.' I was like, 'Thanks. I'm over here sweating,' because we're at the ninth hour. But yeah, he did it and he also played a harmonica at the end. And, you know, he's such a sweet and loving guy."

Lyte, who recently released "Woman" with Salt of Salt -N- Pepa, and "King King" with Queen Latifah also talked about how Hip-Hop is still embedded in her. "I didn't even know that the love for Hip-Hop was still embedded in me the way that it is," she shared. "And it was sparked, and because of that, I got into a real zone about what I wanted to say, how I wanted to say it, what I wanted to say it on, and who I wanted to say it with.

It just became laser-focused. And it hadn't been that way for a while because life, you know, I'm trying to do this and that and that, and broadening the business. And, so it is easy to take your eyes off of something that means so much to you when you have all of these other things going as well as distractions. And so once I was able to sit down and get it going, I just was really excited."
