MC Lyte And Queen Latifah Team Up For 'King King'

As she readies her new full-length album, which is scheduled for an August 9th release, MC Lyte has released here latest single, "King King", a dedication to Black men which features Queen Latifah. "Love love and more love to KING KINGS of the world," she posted to IG. "Taking care of your family. Taking care of your loved ones. God is ALL!!!"

She continued, "Thank you to my sister Queen Latifah for showing up to the studio on a late night to bless us. It’s been along time since we graced the same production and I’m extremely grateful for the opportunity. Nottz You know how we do!!! Long time coming. Truly an honor to rock with you on this and we ain’t stopping no time soon!!!"

MC Lyte was a recent guest on Rock The Bells Radio's That's The Joint with Sha Rock and Grandmaster Caz, where she announced her new album. "The new single, 'Woman' is out right now," she says. "We have another single coming June 9th for Black Music Month, and I have some winning folks on this album." Lyte announced that the album is due on August 9th.

Lyte recently credits LL COOL J and Nas as major influences on her decision to release to new music. "I sat with LL for a fireside chat for leading women to find, and he said to me, 'I got new music coming out'", the "Paper Thin" MC told AllHipHop. "I was like, 'Oh, that’s great. So how was that process?' He said, 'But what about you? Stop being scared, put out some music.'"
