MC Hammer joins a growing number of Hip-Hop figures who are offering personal memorabilia for auction. In an auction titled "Legends of Rock And Roll" sponsored by GW auctions, the legendary Oaktown rapper is offering a "Stage Worn Two-Piece Fuchsia Outfit W/COA and Collectible Doll."

The auction description states that the outfit or a virtually identical one, appears to have been worn by MC Hammer while performing "2 Legit 2 Quit" on the Arsenio Hall Show in 1992. Live bidding starts in 18 days with a minimum bid of $2000. The auction also includes Kurt Cobain and Elvis Presley guitars as well as Janis Joplin's mandolin given to her by Jimi Hendrix.

Recent Kirpa auctions have included items from EPMD, Goodie Mob and Twista, While Kool Herc's memorabilia fetched more than half a million dollars at Christie's. Sotheby's Auction House in New York held its first ever Hip-Hop auction in 2020 where a plastic crown worn by The Notorious B.I.G. fetched $595,000.
