After the loss of fashion juggernaut, Virgil Abloh, Louis Vuitton hosted the designer’s final runway show for his Spring/Summer 2022 Men’s Spin-Off show, held at a secluded location by the port of Miami during Art Basel Weekend.
The show was held in honor of the late designer, dubbed, “Virgil Was Here.” The runway show featured some of Abloh’s most notable creations and some brand new ideas. Before the show, the luxury fashion house unveiled a polychromatic statue of the late art director. The large-scale representation of Abloh showed the artist looking into the sky while holding an LV monogram labeled canvas representing his artful outlook.
"As a devoted supporter of his community through his charities and passions, [Virgil] was an eternal optimist who believed anything was possible," said Michael Burke, Louis Vuitton’s Chairman, and CEO. "In this same spirit, we at Louis Vuitton will proudly continue to celebrate his legacy with a final show in Miami, per his wishes."
