Kendrick Lamar Teases 'The Heart Part 5' Ahead of Album Release

Kendrick Lamar officially started the rollout of his brand new album Mr. Morale & the Big Steppers, through a series of memos on his personal website, oklama.com.

Taking reference from Michael Jordan’s iconic 1995 NBA comeback announcement, the Compton rapper issued a press release from his pgLang company revealing the title and release date (May 13), of his highly anticipated new fifth studio album.

Lamar promised “all factual information for this release will come directly from this source only,” fans have been glued to Kendrick’s mysterious website, the name of which appears to be his latest alias.

And on Tuesday night (April 19), observant fans noticed the pgLang emcee quietly updated the site with a new page called “The Heart” containing hundreds of computer folders. In total, there are 399 folders, with folder #327 being blacked-out. However, each folder is currently empty and when clicked on shows a 404 error with the message “this page could not be found.”

The name of the webpage sparked speculation of a possible fifth installment in Kendrick’s beloved “The Heart” series. After all, K. Dot signaled the release of his last album, 2017’s DAMN., by dropping “The Heart Part 4” just weeks before the Pulitzer Prize-winning album arrived.

Mr. Morale and the Big Steppers will be Lamar’s final album on his longtime label Top Dawg Entertainment, as the Compton emcee continues to grow his own media imprint with Dave Free.
