Jermaine Dupri celebrated the 30th anniversary of So So Def Records and brought the party to the 2023 BET Hip-Hop Awards, which aired last night.

As is customary, the awards show was filmed in Atlanta, and it featured numerous memorable moments in honor of Hip-Hop's 50th anniversary, including tributes to Marley Marl, who received the "I Am Hip Hop" Award, and Swizz Beatz and Timbaland, who were honored with the 2023 Rock The Bells Hip-Hop Award.

As for the all-star tribute to So So Def and JD, the jam-packed set included Bone Crusher, Chingy, Lil Jon, Ludacris, Nelly, Bow Wow, Da Brat, Dem Franchize Boyz, and Tyrese.

The 11-minute tribute featured a medley of Atlanta classics, including Bone Crusher's "Never Scared," JD and Jay-Z's "Money Ain't A Thang," Lil Jon's "Snap Yo Fingers," and "I Think They Like Me" by Dem Franchize Boyz. JD himself hopped from behind the DJ booth to grab the mic during the performance. The crowd erupted when Da Brat also jumped on stage with her signature animated delivery.

While his So So Def Festival has been pushed back, JD is set to perform at The Rock The Bells Resort at The Moon Palace in Cancun next spring. The "Atlantopia" set will also feature T.I., Jeezy, Big Boi, Goodie Mob, DJ Jelly, and Princess Cut and is hosted by Big Tigger.
