Hulu To Release 'Hip-Hop and the White House' Documentary

Hulu and Andscape are set to release Hip-Hop and the White House, a documentary which examines the relationship between Hip-Hop, and U.S. presidential policies. The documentary which airs on April 22, and is narrated by Jeezy is part of Andscape's documentary anthology series intended to explore the influence of Black culture on American society.

“We are energized by the incredible storytellers working today, and we are thrilled to use our platform to spotlight the work of Black creators,” said Jason Aidoo, VP and head of Andscape.

Hip-Hop and the White House features interviews with KRS-One, Davey D, Common, YG, Roxanne Shante, Bun B,, and Newark Mayor Ras J. Baraka. “We feel this is the perfect time to discuss how Hip-Hop has influenced presidential politics, and to ask what we can expect from the culture in this upcoming election season,” said writer and director Jesse Washington.
