Kid Cudi has been showing off his acting chops since his role on HBO’s 2010 comedy-drama series, How To Make It In America, this past year, the Cleveland rapper also made an appearance in Adam McKay’s controversial dark-comedy film, Don’t Look Up, marking his rise in the world of Hollywood.
On Tuesday (March 22), Cudi revealed plans to expand his IMDb resume, with the announcement of his directorial debut Teddy, which is slated to make its premiere on Netflix. Cudi took to Instagram to share the news, revealing the film is based on his 2009 hit “Pursuit of Happiness.” The upcoming Netflix film also finds JAY-Z and LeBron James as executive producers.
“I added a lot of my own personal struggles and experiences in it, so this film is very close to my heart,” he wrote. “I know that, deep down, this movie will help people the same ways music has… It’s trippy, it’s fun, it’s sad, it’s life.”
