Jay Electronica Says Its 'Album Time' In Post Teasing New Music

Jay Electronica went on social media to tease new music.

The enigmatic rapper from New Orleans recently posted an image on Instagram, as pointed out by HipHopWired. The post was captioned  “ALBUM TIME,” and the image seems as if it could be an album cover for a project titled Bismillah Boys. Bismillah is an Arabic term that means “in the name of God."

Among the artists tagged in the post are Erykah Badu, Rory, The Alchemist, Bun B, 2 Chainz, Juicy J, Conway The Machine, Rapsody, Chance The Rapper, Big Sean, Ferg, Killer Mike, and Jadakiss. It wasn't explicitly stated that the tagged artists are featured on the album but the teaser suggests that could be the case.

Jay's critcally-acclaimed debut album, A Written Testimony, didn't arrive until 2020, after a years-long delay. The project was essentially a joint-album with Jay-Z, who signed him to Roc Nation in 2010, and was featured on every song. The album was the follow up to his celebrated 2007 mixtape, Act I: Eternal Sunshine (The Pledge). Since then, Jay Elect has been satisfying fans with guest features including on songs with Kanye West “Jesus Lord”), Westside Gunn (“Free Kutter”),Swizz Beatz(“Khalas”), Currensy (“AD6”) and Vic Mensa (“The Weeping Poets”), among others. His was also featured on NoName's "Ballons" earlier this year.
