J. Prince Wants a Protest Concert: "HIP-HOP VS. THE GRAMMYS!"

When J. Prince speaks, people tend to listen. The founder of Rap-A-Lot Records is one of the most influential figures in the Hip-Hop industry, and Prince has issued a challenge: he wants to put together an all-star concert in protest of the Grammys.

On Monday (March 21), the Houston native took to Instagram to reveal his plans.

"HIP HOP VS. THE GRAMMYS: @champagnepapi@kanyewest@theweeknd@nickiminaj. The powers that be will be mad at me about this one but FUCK EM! I love the culture! The seed is planted … let’s water it!"

J. Prince's declarative comes on the heels of reports that Kanye West has been pulled from this year's ceremony for "disturbing online behavior." West has engaged in high-profile social media feuds with several celebrities in the wake of his ongoing custody battle with ex-wife Kim Kardashian.

"Time & time again they show us that they only want to STEAL the culture, not allow you to ever be their equals,” he wrote in the caption. “In a more than obvious move for reasons of minuscule actions…. The Grammys have at the last minute decided to pull @kanyewest from performing on the show as if we didn’t know it was coming."
