Ice Cube: 'Please Don't Call Me A G.O.A.T.'

Although the acronym G.O.A.T. (greatest of all time) is heavily used to describe rappers, athletes, and those who are the best in their respective disciplines, Ice Cube recently rejected the accolade, which LL COOL J popularized in 2000 with his album of the same name.

In a weekend (9/30) Twitter post, Cube says that while he appreciates the respect, he doesn't like being labeled with the term. "For those that thinks it flatters me, please don't call me a fucking goat. Carry On," he posted. "Don't get me wrong. I appreciate the respect but don't call me that," he said in a later post.

Fans responded to his post with comments ranging from questions on why he doesn't like term to expressing that the term has run its course.

In other Ice Cube news, the "It Was A Good Day" MC recently announced that he will be releasing a new album soon.

"I'm working on an album that hopefully I can finish in next couple of weeks and schedule to put it out and yeah, I'm digging what I'm doing," he told Rap Station. "The name of the record is called Man Down and, you know, it's a pretty good record. It like it. It's dope."

Man Down will mark Cube's first solo project since 2018's Everything's Corrupt. No release date for the upcoming album was announced.
