Eminem Former Employee Charged With Leaking His Unreleased Music

Earlier this week, the FBI disclosed that a former Eminem sound engineer was behind a leak of his music and could face prison time. The FBI revealed that 46 year old Joseph Strange of Holly Michigan was charged with criminal infringement of a copyright and interstate transportation of stolen goods. If Strange is found guilty on all charges, he could face up to 5 years in prison and a $250,000 fine.

Strange worked with Em for 14 years, and leaked more than 25 of his unreleased songs. “Protecting intellectual property from thieves is critical in safeguarding the exclusive rights of creators and protecting their original work from reproduction and distribution by individuals who seek to profit from the creative output of others,” said Acting U.S. Attorney Julie Beck.
