The pandemic left most artists either feeling stuck creatively or really focused on their output. In a recently posted video, legendary producer Dr. Dre tells Busta Rhymes he falls into the latter category.

“I did 247 songs during the pandemic, then we paused, did a whole album with Marsha Ambrosius — that’s fucking nutso, that’s crazy,” he told Busta in the video posted Thursday (June 30). “Then we came back … I did theGrand Theft Autoshit and then we working on ... Snoop ... I wanna finish this shit and then start Busta Rhymes.”

Dre and Busta have a long history of collaborating, from Busta's 2001 album, Genius, to songs including “Don’t Get Carried Away” featuring Nas, “Legend Of The Falls Offs” and “Break Ya Neck.” Busta's most recent album was 2020's Extinction Level Event 2: The Wrath of God.

As he mentioned, Dre has stayed busy. He recently co-produced a new single for Symba with Dem Jointz and also co-produced Eminem's single "The King & I" featuring Cee-Lo Green from the Elvis soundtrack.
