Erick Sermon, producer, M.C. and one half of the iconic duo EPMD, recently posted on his social media that he and Dr. Dre despite being friends for three decades are finally working together. “I got to L.A. a day before the #superbowl…then 2 days after that was his his bday…after that the #sagacontinues”, he posted with a picture of he and Dre. in the studio. “We worked on my new project #DYNAMICDUOS. The next day we called @snoopdogg we made something epic for him…then we made something for him after. I think lol. Then he says Erik..that’s 3. What’s next? GOD doesn’t make mistakes.”
In the post Sermon also thanked Saweetie, Focus and a few others while thanking Dre for the opportunity. “My mental health has been a factor for awhile…Thank U @drdre for changing that.”
Erick Sermon has talked about the Dynamic Duos project as far back as 2017. At the time the album was being released by Roc Nation and featured duos such as Mobb Deep, M.O.P., Salt n’ Pepa, Black Star and Capone-N-Noreaga. In a Drink Champs interview from that same year PMD says “We’re only working with groups on this album.” There was even a hint that Ghostface Killah and Raekwon would be enlisted to do part eight of “Jane” (a mainstay that has appeared on every EPMD album). Maybe Dynamic Duos will see the light of day soon.
