DJ Muggs of Cypress Hill is readying his next album Soul Assassins 3 and today (May 24), he released the new single “Metropolis” featuring Method Man and Slick Rick. Muggs spoke of the the track on Instagram.

“This shit is live now world wide on your muthafucken PHONES an Computers featuring my Method Man an The Grand Wizard Slick Rick," Muggs wrote. "This the first single from the new Soul Assassins 3 Album can’t wait for y’all to here[SIC] this album.”

The first chapter in the Soul Assassins series was released in 1997 with features from Dr. Dre, Goodie Mob, Mobb Deep, Infamous Mobb, B-Real, MC Eiht, RZA and GZA.

Soul Assassins II was released in October 2000, with features from Kool G. Rap, Dilated Peoples, GZA, Ras Kass and Kurupt. Muggs talked about the projects in the documentary, Soul Assassins Revisited.

"Back in 1997, I was basically a fan of everybody on the records, except some of the newer acts," he explained. "It was a chance to give some of them a platform. Some of the newer acts - this was this first project that they ever had out; like Call O' The Wild and Infamous Mobb. That was their first record.

"I was producing Beastie Boys, Ice Cube, Cypress and KRS-One," he continued. "So Columbia Records was excited to give me a deal for a solo album."
