DJ Drama is celebrating life, music, and his recent successes after decades in the game. The Philly-bred, Atlanta-based DJ shared his enthusiasm for the new year and the revival of his trendsetting, career-defining Gangsta Grillz mixtapes on Instagram.

"I Brought The Mixtape Game Back 2 Life (Thanks Tyler)," he declared, referencing his Grammy-winning comeback on Tyler's 2021 album, Call Me If You Get Lost.

Drama was very busy in 2022 following this link-up with Tyler, dropping Gangsta Grillz projects with heavy hitters like Snoop Dogg, J. Cole's Dreamville, and Symba. Additionally, not only did Drama's label imprint Generation Now (co-owned with Don Cannon and Leighton “Lake” Morrison) extend its partnership with Atlantic Records, Drama had two Gangsta Grillz in the top 10 of the Billboard 200 last year— Youngboy Never Broke Again’s Ma’ I Got a Family and Jeezy’s Snofall.

As for his declaration, Drama earned a co-sign from Tyler and Funk Flex in. the comments. Drama is currently working on his own album and has an upcoming Gangsta Grillz with Pusha T.
