Sean “Diddy” Combs is returning to the music business. Combs famously "retired" from music in 2016, but Diddy has inked a new deal with Motown Records for his new Love Records imprint. Combs changed his middle name to Love in 2017, and his new label is expected to be R&B-driven.

“Music has always been my first love. Love Records is the next chapter," Combs said via press release. “It’s about getting back to the love and making the best music of my life."

When he retired in 2016, Combs said in an interview with Cigar Aficionado that the prospective No Way Out 2 would be his last album. “I want to stop at a great place, and a final album is a great place to stop," he said at the time.

Love Records will be dedicated to R&B music and "will release singles and collaborative projects from a collective of world class artists, producers and songwriters" according to the press release. "I'm focused on creating timeless R&B music with the next generation of artists and producers," Diddy explains. "Motown is the perfect partner for my album, and I'm excited to add to its legacy."
