Dame Dash Offers To Sell His Share Of 'Reasonable Doubt' On IG

Dame Dash recently offered his share of Jay-Z's debut album Reasonable Doubt on IG. "This shit is for sale 1/3…only real inquiries only," he captioned with a picture of the album cover. Dame owns one third of the critically acclaimed 1996 album along with Jay-Z and Kareem "Biggs" Burke, his former partners in Roc-A-Fella Records.

The album and Dame's ownership has been in the news a few times over the last few years. In 2021 Roc-A-Fella sued Dash for allegedly trying to mint and sell the copyright for Reasonable Doubt as an NFT on the SuperFarm auction website. Dash told Rolling Stone that he wasn't trying to sell the album as an NFT, rather he was attempting to sell his stake in Roc-A-Fella after the label tried to purchase it at a low price.

Jay-Z and Dame Dash reached a settlement in the court case, which involved Dash's attempt to allegedly sell a portion of the copyright to Jay-Z's solo album as an NFT. The parties announced in court papers that an agreement was reached where Dash could sell his one-third stake in Roc-A-Fella Records, but he could not "In any way dispose of any property interest in Reasonable Doubt."

Earlier this year Cam'ron and Mase announced hypothetically on their It Is What it Is Podcast that they purchased Dame's stake. When asked by co-host Treasure Wilson if the rumors were true that they were acquiring Dame's shares, Mase replied: "That would be a grandmaster chess move, lets just say hypothetically." Cam'ron added: "I'm just doing business bro, I'm not trying to play games or chess."

A disclaimer was posted on screen stating that the duo were speaking hypothetically, and they repeated that fact throughout the conversation. "Hypothetically it might have happened already, hypothetically," Cam said. "If we did, who would you sell it to?" Mase questioned. Cam suggested that he would "Hold onto it, like 'The Wu-Tang album [Once Upon A Time In Shaolin].'"
