Stetsasonic frontman Daddy-O recently sat down with Live Hip-Hop Daily and discussed what he considers two categories of MC, and who fits where.

"There's basically two categories of MC's in the world, the Melle Mel's and the Kool Moe Dee's," the Brooklyn wordsmith said. "Your Melle Mel's just wanna get their point across. Ain't no vocal acrobatics, they don't care. But the Busta Rhymes, Eminem's and Kendrick's fall into that Moe Dee thing. They do the vocal acrobatics and run up and down the scale, do 15 words at a time and flip it around. I'm not saying that one is better than the other, because everybody has their preference."

He then explains that Kendrick is a Moe Dee type and J Cole is a Kool Moe Dee.

Daddy-O has been busy recently recording new solo music and music with Stetsasonic. Stet recently released "Fallen Soldiers," a dedication to Hip-Hop icons that left us early.

"Stetsasonic was already working on the song 'Fallen Soldiers' when I got the news from my drummer Bobby Simmons about Takeoff of the Migos," Stet frontman Daddy-O said. "We gonna embark on a mission to turn some of this stuff around."

As for the two legendary MCs Daddy-O mentioned, Grandmaster Melle Mel is embarking on a series of lectures with Hip-Hop Historian JayQuan in recognition of "The Message," one of Hip-Hop's first groundbreaking songs which he co-wrote.

"As we sit at the 40th anniversary of 'The Message' as a groundbreaking song, and at the eve of the 50th anniversary of Hip-Hop as a culture, the examination of Grandmaster Melle Mel and the poetic value that he brought to the genre is of utmost importance," JayQuan said in a statement.

Meanwhile, Kool Moe Dee recently released the single "Body 'Em" and is working on a documentary. Check out "Body 'Em" below.
