Ice Cube sat down with Rock The Bells Radio's Torae to discuss his new single, "It's My Ego", and his upcoming music. "I wanted to celebrate our ego," Cube said of the EA Ski produced single. "A lotta people say that ego is something that you should suppress, and that it gets you in trouble and makes you seem conceited, arrogant and big headed."

Cube revealed that "It's My Ego" contained an Al Green sample that had to be removed, because he took offense to some of the lyrics. "I think it was the line where I said pass the grits. It's cool, I understand, It's probably a traumatic event for my man."

Your ego is what makes you unique. A solid individual and not part of a herd

Cube shared that there's a remix to "It's My Ego", which features a couple of legendary spitters. "I sent the track to a few of my folks - Killer Mike and Busta Rhymes. Man, they don't play, they got busy. It was a fire drill. I had to come with a different verse too, I can't let them have all the fun."

Cube and Torae also discussed Ice Cube's classic NWA diss, "No Vaseline". "You wanna make a lasting impact," Cube explained. "You wanna have your Hip-Hop moment that people can point to and say,' That's when Cube was at the top of his game'. Everybody wants their history, and to have iconic records and shows. It's a notch on your belt as an artist."
