Boot Camp Clik sat down with Rock The Bells radio host, Torae, for a sprawling interview detailing their impact and influence on Hip-Hop, and what's next for the legendary crew.

Boot Camp Clik is celebrating their 30th anniversary, as well as the release of their first single and video in 16 years, "Wotcha Call Strength," which was released in partnership with Rock The Bells on on Friday, July 14th. Rock The Bells and BCC also dropped an exclusive merch collaboration.

"In honor and celebration of Hip Hop 50, we felt that the BCC’s catalog of work, contributions and legacy needed to be recognized properly," says Dru Ha, the CEO of Duck Down Records. "Partnering with Rock the Bells was the icing on the cake. Not only did they provide resources, but the indirect endorsement from Hip-Hop Royalty in LL COOL J adds even more credibility to the single, and helped solidify the marketing campaign that will be capped with a full BCC performance at The Rock The Bells Festival."

In the interview, Rockness Monsta (of Heltah Skeltah) explained how he got his start in Brownsville Brooklyn.

"Back then it was only a few of us who rapped in the projects, and I was one of those kids," he recalled, adding that he knew Steele from Smif N Wessun's uncle, who eventually connected the pair. "We met and we've been rocking ever since."

Check out the full interview above. Catch the Boot Camp Clik at the Rock The Bells Festival on Aug. 5 in Queens, NYC.
