Black Thought, highly celebrated MC and the Grammy Award winning co-founder of The Roots, is releasing his memoir with Penguin Random House, The Upcycled Self.

In it, he tells the story of the four relationships that shaped him — community, art, friends and family. These relationships are communicated via vivid vignettes that detail the love, discovery, trauma and loss according to the book's website.

"His story begins with a tragedy," the website states. "As a child Trotter burned down his family's home. The years that followed are the story of a life snatched from the flames, forged in fire."

The Upcycled Self has an expected due date of November 14 and is available at Barnes & Noble, Amazon,Book A Million, Walmart Target and wherever books are sold.

Black Thought has been busy musically, releasing Glorious Game with El Michel last month. Three singles from Glorious Game were released before the album — "Glorious Game", "That Girl" and "Grateful." Thought has also revealed that the fourth installment of his Streams of Thought series could be released "any day now."

Black Thought's collaborative project with Danger Mouse, Cheat Codes, was widely considered on of last years best albums, Thought told AV Club that the collaboration came easily.

"It came with ease," he said. "Like once we figured it out, the approach was to arrive at an idea and then build on it, so if there was a sketch that Brian would come up with for a beat, it was to something I would write. Every song that I wrote was written specifically to the music that you hear, like to the accompaniment. But none of it was complete when I wrote to it. it is a bit of an assembly line. But we worked together. We recorded this all together, every step of the way."
