Black Thought, highly celebrated MC and the Grammy Award winning co-founder of The Roots, is releasing his memoir with Penguin Random House, The Upcycled Self.
In it, he tells the story of the four relationships that shaped him — community, art, friends and family. These relationships are communicated via vivid vignettes that detail the love, discovery, trauma and loss according to the book's website.
"His story begins with a tragedy," the website states. "As a child Trotter burned down his family's home. The years that followed are the story of a life snatched from the flames, forged in fire."
The Upcycled Self has an expected due date of November 14 and is available at Barnes & Noble, Amazon,Book A Million, Walmart Target and wherever books are sold.
