"Literally like the down south version of the Wu Tang Clan," Gipp said. "He is cousins with Organized Noize producer, Rico Wade. Before he became “Future” he was going by Meat Head & just like every other member he has it tatted on him. As Meat Head continued to grind he would reinvent himself, becoming one of the biggest rappers in the world all while still keeping in touch with his roots."
In an interview with The Art of Dialogue earlier this month, Gipp talked about DF's place in Atlanta and music at large, saying they were never too concerned with trying to win over New York executives but focused on their hometown.
"We never played friend to the industry," he said. "We was only friends to our peers and our counterparts in the game. And I think that’s where you won’t see Goodie Mob and OutKast recognized in a lot of places because hey man, y’all heroes ain’t my heroes and it ain’t gon’ ever change. And I ain’t gon’ do too much ball holding and stroking to nobody. So that’s what they don’t like about my crew."
