Benny The Butcher Announces That He Recently Turned Down A Meeting With Donald Trump

Benny The Butcher recently announced that he turned down a meeting with Republican Presidential hopeful Donald Trump. The announcement was posted to X, formerly known as Twitter on yesterday (2/26). "Turned down a meeting with 45 last week", the Griselda MC posted.

Benny, who stated on X last year that he would be voting for Trump in the upcoming elections did not give a reason for the rejection in his initial post. When a user asked why he turned down the meeting, Benny replied: "For 1 I'm not a politician I'm a rapper, for 2 people dumb as shit and wont understand for 3 it's not that important to me."

Historically Hip-Hop artists have received backlash for meeting with politicians. Eazy E's 1991 luncheon with President George H.W. Bush drew criticism from fans, and even wound up as ammunition for Ice Cube's scathing NWA diss, "No Vaseline".

Ironically Ice Cube received backlash in 2000 for working with then President Donald Trump on his "Platinum Plan" for Black America. "Every side is the Darkside for us here in America," Cube tweeted,in defense of his work with Trump. "They're all the same until something changes for us. They all lie and they all cheat but we can't afford not to negotiate with whoever is in power or our condition in this country will never change. Our justice is bipartisan."
